Bluestone House™ Meets The Millionaire's Daughter

From the success at Locke Street Festival and Christie's Antique Show, to our second debut on The Shopping Channel, we thought, "there's no WAY the month of September could get any better!" But, we spoke too soon, and it did!

As fate would have it, Pamela was introduced to Lauren who paints furniture with our #Bluestone #chalkypainta paint. Pamela tells the story well. "Lauren popped by the cottage to purchase our top seller, Bluestone. While chatting away about her latest DIY projects, Lauren happened to mention that she sells her pieces at her Aunts store. Naturally curious, I asked which store. She replied, "The Millionaire's Daughter." I could hardly contain my excitement! That day she introduced me to her Aunt, Maureen Barnes, and as you can see, the rest is history!"

And on this beautiful Thursday, we've been setting the stage for Bluestone House debut at The Millionaire's Daughter, located at 272 Ottawa St N, Hamilton. Next stop will be the Millionaire's Daughter's Aurora (40 Englehard Drive) and Oakville (427 Speers Road) locations. We will be painting two more cabinets, and would love you colour suggestions! Please comment below.

Painted in #FrenchCountry and #Bluestone, this gorgeous cabinet will house our 12 #chalkypatina paints (100ml, 250ml and 500ml), unique line of brushes, topcoat, natural beeswax, and paint accessories.

Pam will be painting and distressing ignored furniture from the Millionaire's Daughter with Bluestone Cottage Inc paints and accessories this Saturday in front of the store, as part of the Ottawa Street Sidewalk Sale! Come visit between 9AM-5PM. We'd love to show you how to get your patina on and turn your furniture from #ignoredtoadored.

Cheers to a successful partnership Maureen, and the rest of The Millionaire's Daughter team.
Thanks Lauren for introducing me to your wonderful Aunt!

We're starting to cocoon... Grab your supplies patinas!

Turning leaves and the appearance of pumpkin lattes mean that fall is just around the corner. We are pulling sweaters and shawls from the winter chest, and reaching more often then not for the blanket at the end of the couch. Let's face it patinas, we're all starting to cocoon.

In anticipation of the long and cold winter months, it's a great time to start thinking about and preparing for the DIY projects that will keep you occupied during those long winter storms - let's hope Mother Nature spares us from a winter like the last!

Time to start collecting furniture that you can turn from ignored to adored! All you have to do is Google, "end of summer garage sale" in your area, and you'll find loads to choose from. So hit the bottle of red a little earlier this Friday evening, and set your Saturday alarm for 6AM to ensure you get to those garage sales before the pickings get slim.

Regardless of the condition of the furniture pieces you find, look beyond the nicks and scratches, because there's nothing a quick sand and a coat of chalky or silky patina paint can't fix. And remember, bargaining is key patinas!

Visit our website for all your painting needs, and get ready to paint your own kind of beautiful this fall and winter season! Be sure to contact us with any questions, and remember to send your before and after photos to liz.bluestonecottageinc@gmail.com :)

At The Cottage we will be busy working on getting ready for the Creativ Show in Toronto from October 24 - 26, and a couple Christmas Shows to be announced. So stay tuned!

We've been busy Bluestone bees!

As the summer draws to an end, we say goodbye to hours spent sipping on G&T's on the patio with friends, lounging on the beach watching the kiddies swim, and deeply enjoying that book we've been "planning" to read all year (while sipping on a G&T). We welcome September, and the schedules, school buses, swim practices, and routine it brings.

We hope admits the beach lounging and G&T sipping, you were able to get creative with #chalkypatina paints, and salvage a few pieces of decrepit furniture from the attic. From the looks of it, a handful of you have, and we've been enjoying your ignored to adored photos!

This September has been busy thus far! We held a workshop on the long weekend, where Kim painted a piece for her kitchen, and she even brought a bottle of champagne to share! Please don't shy away from bringing a little bubbly to our workshops, so long as you have a safe way home!

We also appeared at Locke Street Festival and Christie's Antique Show on Sept 6th. Thanks to our team of fabulous patina's we were able to be in two places at once! We've heard great feedback from many happy customers, and can't wait to see their finished DIY projects!

On Monday, Sept 8th, Pamela made her second appearance on The Shopping Channel! What a blast it was. The hosts are just so welcoming and excited about our product. Again, we've had some great feedback from people across the country! Check out our Facebook page for many happy reviews. Thanks Canada and #happypainting.

Note: Our September 20 workshop is full. There is a waiting list. We will announce the dates of our next workshop soon. Stay tuned for our fall schedule of show's, festivals and workshops and store openings near you!!!
